1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using wheretostudyaway.io (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by CONNEX LDA ("we," "us," "our"), a company registered in Lisbon, Portugal.
2. Description of Services
wheretostudyaway.io provides an online study-abroad assessment tool that matches users with potential university programmes, scholarships, and destination countries based on self-reported data. We also offer optional paid reports with detailed analysis, and publish free educational blog content about studying abroad.
3. Not an Education Agency, University Representative, or Visa Consultant
The information provided through our assessment tool, reports, and blog content is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional educational advice, immigration advice, or financial advice. See our Disclaimer for full details.
We are not an education agency, university representative, registered migration agent, or regulated financial advisor. We do not:
- Submit university applications or visa applications on your behalf
- Represent you before any university, government authority, or embassy
- Guarantee admission to any programme, scholarship award, or visa approval
- Provide individual legal, tax, or immigration opinions
4. User Responsibilities
When using our assessment tool, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information about your personal circumstances
- Understand that the accuracy of your results depends on the accuracy of your inputs
- Not use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy our assessment algorithm or content
- Not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our reports or content without written permission
5. Pricing and Payments
Pricing: Report prices are displayed on our Pricing page and are charged in EUR via Stripe. Prices include applicable VAT where required.
Delivery: Reports are delivered digitally via email within minutes of payment processing.
Refund policy: We offer a 14-day factual error guarantee. If you find a factual error in your report — an incorrect tuition fee, a wrong eligibility requirement, an outdated programme detail — email us at hello@wheretostudyaway.io within 14 days and we will either correct the report and resend it, or issue a full refund at our discretion. Because reports are digital products delivered instantly, refunds outside of factual errors are generally not available.
6. Accuracy and Updates
We review programme data on a semi-annual basis. However, university programmes, tuition fees, scholarship terms, visa requirements, and admission criteria change frequently — sometimes between review cycles. We cannot guarantee that all information is current at any given time.
We strongly recommend that you independently verify any specific requirement, fee, or deadline with the relevant university or government authority before making financial commitments or life decisions based on our content.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the assessment algorithm, report templates, and blog articles — is owned by CONNEX LDA or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may share links to our content and reference it with proper attribution. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute substantial portions of our content without written permission.
8. Data Protection
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CONNEX LDA and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, reliance on our content, or purchase of reports. This includes, without limitation, university application fees, visa costs, travel expenses, or lost opportunities.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Site or reports shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.
10. Third-Party Links
Our content may contain links to third-party websites (university portals, government visa sites, scholarship databases). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. Links do not imply endorsement.
11. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Site or email. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.
